The consequences that come with fraud could be quite devastating. That’s why you can relax when you get a free credit score, knowing full well that all is in order. It’s very important nowadays.

If you don’t, you could be allowing criminals to use your name, acquire credit, and leave you with the bill and a credit report that is hurting. The truth is, if your credit score has been damaged, it will undoubtedly leave you with huge troubles.

Such troubles could stop you from getting credit that you need. And, that means that you might not be to get that car or that mortgage you were looking for. Why leave things up to chance when you don’t have to? It’s a very easy process to stay on top of your credit, and it is highly recommended that you do so. The fact is, we honestly don’t know exactly how much fraud is actually going on.

More and more people have fallen victim to fraud and personal identity theft. In some cases, it has left people on the verge of bankruptcy and financial disaster. All this could be avoided if you are diligent and persistent when it comes to checking your credit on a regular basis.

And, it’s only a click away. So, there is nothing that should stand in your way to getting this free credit score. All you have to do is log on to a website that offers this, enter the necessary information and your report will come directly to you.

Without this record, you never know for sure where you stand in the eyes of creditors. There could be mistakes, albeit honest mistakes, but nonetheless mistakes that stand in your way. Additionally, there could be new credit taken out that you haven’t actually applied for. All these things could happen unless you are caring for your financial future by reviewing your credit report.

While the importance of this cannot be stressed enough, some people just aren’t interested in doing this on their own. If you fall into this category simply sign up to a company that offers these services. They review everything and inform their clients of any suspicious activities. But, after all is said and done, you should also be reviewing very thoroughly all your banking and credit card statements. Finding problems quickly can resolve them just as quickly, avoiding huge problems from developing.

Obtaining a free credit score should be a part of your periodic financial status report. A free FICO score will assist in making the process of applying for a mortgage go more smoothly.

Everyone is concerned about credit scores, these days. Do you know what your numbers are? Your financial future will have much to do with these numbers. They need to stay as high as you can get them. Here are some techniques to keep your rating high.

Do you wish to buy a home? You will apply for a loan. The lender will receive your financial information from one of three agencies. They will examine what is in your file.

For example, do you pay your bills on time? When you make a late payment, it will be on your record. One late payment every now and then may not be a problem. However, they can add up and become a black mark on your record. Make it a habit to always make your payment on time, if possible. This will help your total score.

Have you ever defaulted on any loans? This may be as a result of a bankruptcy. Any type of default situation will lower your total numbers. A bankruptcy can stay on your record for seven years. In some cases, it may be as long as ten years. Bankruptcies are never to be taken lightly. Your ability to borrow money will be seriously affected for many years. If someone turns your account over to a collection agency, it is bad for your total numbers, also.

Your total rating may be as low as 300. It may also reach the maximum of 800. You also have three different ratings. One is from each reporting agency. Higher numbers represent better ratings with lenders. Anything under 600 is considered a serious risk to lenders.

Higher ratings

Contact the major reporting bureaus and check for any errors. You can fix them and may drastically increase your rating. You may also wish to subscribe to a service that will monitor your record. They notify you of important changes. This may be of value, if you have future plans for major purchases.

Practice good payment habits. Make them on time. Try to pay extra amounts on charge cards, too.

How many bills do you have? Your total amount of liability will be measured against your income. This is known as your debt to income ratio. Although this may not affect your numbers, it can be just as important. Lenders will look at this ratio to determine if you are a risk.

Final thoughts

How people pay their bills, determines their credit scores. Pay your bills responsibly. Make all payments on time. If you have difficulties, contact your lender, immediately. This may keep black marks from your record. Take measures to raise your rating. Check you records. If there are errors, you can correct them.

Learn the easy and fast steps you can take to improve credit score today! When you plan for credit repair, having all of the information you need will make it much easier!

Identity theft has become an increasingly growing concern for many consumers. Although technology has made life a lot easier, it has also given more ways for people who are looking to steal your identity many more options. With ever tightening rules around bankruptcy you want to ensure that you are protecting yourself and your financial history. Your first step of action is to get your free credit check in order to make sure what you are being held responsible is actually yours.

It may have once been enough to run your important, unneeded paperwork through the shredder, but this is no longer the case. With more and more people keeping their financial information online, staying on top of what is going on through your credit report is essential.

A credit report is basically a list of your financial transactions. There are three major credit bureaus that are involved in tracking your finances. These companies receive information from lenders that have given you loans or lines of credit.

The result of this report is your credit score. This is the score that companies will use when they are deciding on whether to give you a loan or not. This score will also impact what kind of interest rates you receive on approved loans.

A bad credit score can negatively impact you in a number of ways. Simply put, it will often time make your life a little harder. Even if you are not trying to get a loan. More and more employers are checking out credit reports before making the final decision on potential employees. If you want to rent or lease an apartment, your credit score often has a role to play as well.

Straightening out your credit becomes increasingly difficult if you are dealing with identity theft, but it is not impossible. You have to start clearing your name, one company at a time. Even if you are not financial responsible for these charges, they’ll stay on your credit report if you do not take care of it.

When you are talking to different companies about clearing your name, make sure to keep a detailed track on every company representative you speak with. This means that phones need to be logged, with dates and times, as well as names. If you spend any money on the process, such as sending certified mail, keep your receipts. This may come in handy if you become entitled to some kind of reimbursement. However, you can help avoid identity theft by obtaining your free credit check at least once a year.

Locate the different free credit check options you have by going online. There you will find the free credit check online offers that will help you out. Head online today and learn more.

Easier access to credit has fanned a new flame into the auto loan business and auto loans are on the rise, the highest in 26 years. Many car dealers and financial lending institutions that process auto loans ultimately have the loan provided to them by bonds backed by auto loans financing .

The market now has little semblance from last summer when auto dealers had a hard time sourcing funding for loans, as bond backers were in financial disarray at the apogee of the financial crisis. AmeriCredit, one of the biggest players in the auto business is providing about $22.9 billion in auto loan backed bonds to fund car sales, a huge difference from the $13 billion that was made available last year. Such large backing is the apotheosis of the new market, as financial lenders release their fist from credit rules.

This past March the company sold over $200 million of bond backed for car loan, mainly for customers with a less than 600 credit score – or subprime lenders. This month, May 13, AmeriCredit sold an additional $600 million in auto loan backed bonds.

The company categorizes subprime borrowers by using some of the same variables that are used to quantify FICO scores. Normally, the company’s auto loan approval rate hovers around 20% but with the loosening of credit rules, due to positive assumptions about the future, that rate is now 35%. The company approved about 34,800 new and used automobile loans in the first quarter of this year, an almost 200% increase from last year.

Companies like Toyota and Honda, which offer their own in house financing are offering 0% auto loan on most vehicles and are dealing with bonds backed by auto loans in the billions of dollars

Bad Credit Suprime Loans

Auto loan financing has seen a marked improvement, especially for bad credit car loans. Roughly $66 billion in bonds buttressed by auto related financing were sold in 2009, more than 30% above 2008 numbers. These improvements has helped auto dealerships around the country to rebound.

With the credit horizon brighter than before and the dark financial clouds of the credit crisis withering away, automakers have ramped up their efforts to rake in profits from financing. GM is now considering buying back GMAC (now Ally Bank), its once financial arm before the credit crisis.

Chrysler in also in talks with Santander Consumer USA Inc to provide loans to subprime buyers. Chrysler observers that about 20% of its customers are below prime, meaning their credit score is below 650. The credit crisis has created an increase number of people with scores under prime and Chrysler believes that many of them are good, hard working Americans who deserves a second chance. The company thinks that its relationship with Santander could yield an addition of 2000 units sold a month.

What Subprime Borrowers Can Do

Auto dealers will go at great length to make the sale. They are in business to make money and they will find a way to help you as long as they can make a decent profit. So when you visit the dealership, ensure that you have all the documents required: proof of work, resident address, drivers license, credit report (in case the dealership says that your credit score is lower than what it is), insurance card (if you are trading in a vehicle).

Also, dress clean and professionally. Looks can deceive, but looks also hinder your progress.

Ask the dealer about special automaker coupons and deals that can be passed on to the customer.

Offer to put a decent amount down on the loan or a trade in. If you are offering a trade-in, make sure that the vehicle is clean and recently service, as the look and sound of your car could negatively affect your bargain power.

With more than 20 percent of people qualifying for a bad credit car loan now is the time to take advantage of looser credit rules for car loan to get good deals in APR

During a shaky economy, it is especially important that a consumer have a high credit score in order to obtain a loan or receive additional credit. There are hundreds of credit reporting services that do business online and finding the best one requires a bit of research. Compare free credit reports offered by each one in order to see which service is the best.

A credit report can be equated to a consumer’s list of accomplishments when it comes to spending habits. These reports display the terms and status of loan and credit card repayments and they calculate an overall credit score. This score helps lenders determine whether the individual is worthy of receiving additional credit.

Many companies will provide a consumer with a free credit report. These reports include information from TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian credit bureaus. Identity Guard, Privacy Matters, and Equifax are credit reporting services that give consumers information from all three credit bureaus. Freecreditscore.com and Smart Credit give consumers scores from only one credit bureau each. It is important that all three scores be reviewed because lenders rely on different ones.

Identity theft has become an increasing threat to many individuals, due to the amount of publicly available information. Identity theft protection is offered by Identity Guard and Smart Credit as part of their standard packages. This protection includes daily monitoring of financial black markets and Internet chat rooms to make sure that client personal information is not being used by identity thieves. It also checks to make sure that no unauthorized credit applications are made in the name of the individual.

When reading the credit report, check for inaccuracies and have them corrected as soon as possible. Reporting agencies such as Smart Credit and Equifax allow customers to use an online form to identify inaccuracies on the report. This allows the service, rather than the consumer, to notify the lenders and credit bureaus in order to correct the issue.

Cost to enroll and maintain credit report service varies depending on the company selected. Identity Guard and Equifax provide a free 30-day trial and then a $14.95 monthly fee after that time. Smart Credit includes a free five-day trial before a monthly charge is incurred. Privacy Matters and Freecreditscore.com provide consumers with a free seven-day trial after which Privacy Matters will charge their current membership fee and Freecreditscore.com will charge $14.95 monthly.

Request and compare free credit reports from each of these entities in order to get a feel for what each service has to offer. Then select the best service and pay the monthly fee in order to maintain access. This will provide you with comfort knowing that a credit report is readily available for review on an annual basis and other times the need arises.

With the recent downturn in the economy, many people are realizing that they cannot afford to sustain the lifestyle that they have grown accustomed to living. Fortunately, this does not mean life cannot be enjoyable. There are a number of easy ways to live within your means without hurting your quality of life. With a little planning and knowledge you can live on budget without feeling the financial strain.

The following are a number of ways to live within your means while making life more enjoyable:

1. In order to live within your means, you have to be able to bring in more money than you are spending. Create a monthly budget that includes how much you spend on essential items such as home and vehicle insurance, utilities, food, cable, phone, mortgage payments, gas, etc. Then, calculate how much you earn monthly. Subtract your monthly income from necessary expenses to determine how much extra money you have to work with.

2. List extra expenses such as entertainment, recreation, and products you shop for in the home and on yourself such as clothing, personal care products, etc. Calculate how much you spend monthly on these items. You will then need to come up with ways to control your spending habits. This can include cutting down on the number of times you dine out each month, shopping for discounts at large department stores, second hand stores, surplus stores, etc. When shopping, look for deals, coupons, and sales. Never pay full price for an item. As well, you can often find great deals when shopping online.

3. Credit card debt is a major source of financial hardship. If you have several credit cards with high outstanding debt, you should at least pay the monthly minimum for each card, and then start to pay off the card with the highest interest rate. Owning fewer credit cards will make it easier to manage and remember. Always pay your bills on time to avoid having to pay any interest at all. To help wean yourself off of credit cards, start carrying cash with you at all times and pay using cash. Seeing the physical money literally change hands will help you consider needs vs. wants on a more regular basis.

4. If you are having trouble keeping up with debt payments, then maybe you should consider consolidating your debt in order to manage it better. Instead of making multiple monthly payments to several creditors, you can consolidate your debt and only need to make a single monthly payment. In addition to helping you get organized, this can also alleviate stress that is often associated with debt.

5. Clean up your credit score. Request a copy of your credit report from one of the following two major credit bureaus: Equifax, or TransUnion. Check it over for any inaccuracies. Look to see what debt is affecting your credit rating and work with a creditor to establish a repayment plan. Don’t ignore your creditors as they will send your debt to a collection agency.

At first, implementing a plan to live within your means can seem very unpleasant. You may miss a few of the luxuries you had grown accustomed to. However, once you get used to the plan, you will find life more enjoyable as you will not longer have the worry of how you are going to pay all of your bills. You may even realize that you are much happier living on a budget.

Credit scores and credit bureaus and FICO look like a three-headed monster living under your bed. Pull back the covers and see if you even care what your FICO score is this month.

Credit scores and credit bureaus and FICO look like a three-headed monster living under your bed. Pull back the covers and see if you even care what your FICO score is this month.

So why does the average consumer worry so much about his credit rating? Brainwashing.

Simple. We have been taught to buy first, and worry about how to pay later.

5 reasons why your FICO score is a false idol:

1. FICO Does Not Cover Your Expenses.

Credit is worthless if your bills are covered by your income each month. If your income falls short, you have bigger problems than a low FICO score.

2. Out of Your Control.

No matter how many credit repair books you read, it is hard to raise your score except by paying your bills on time. And even then, which bills you pay can have more to do with your score than how much you pay.

For example, your wife pays the landline phone, and you pay for the cell phones. Her score goes up, yours does not. You might write the checks for everything, but if the right bills (mortgage, electric, phone, gas) are in your wife’s name, she gets the FICO boost.

3. Inaccurate and Incomplete.

Credit scores are dry mathematical formulas. No real human contact. Mistakes can live forever. Most human activities can only lower your score.

Income is not really a factor in the credit score algorithm. Get a raise at work and FICO does not know or care. Pay all your expenses in cash and become a credit ghost. Mistakes stay on your report forever. Even debt discharged in bankruptcy somehow lingers.

4. Mounting Debt.

All a high credit score can do is tempt you into taking on too much debt. For the person who lives debt-free within their means, a FICO score is worthless.

If you have a high credit scores, banks will flood your mailbox with offers to give you more credit.

Easy and credit should never come together in a sentence. How many products have you bought that you did not need just because financing was available.

5. Can’t Take Credit Score With You.

When your eulogy is read at your funeral, trust me, your FICO score will not be mentioned.

Wealth matters. Your credit score does not.

Eat, drink, and be merry, just not on someone else’s dime.

Live fully on the income you make. Upgrade your toys when you have the cash, not the credit.

Don’t lose a moment of your life to worry about a mathematical score your cannot control.

A credit report is a consolidated account of your past borrowings and repayments. Each time you borrow, pay or delay, it will be reflected in your credit report. Money lenders use it to assess how likely you are to pay back any money lent to you.

Credit reports work through issuing a credit score. They will calculate your borrowing and repayment against the how long it took you to repay and come up with a score which ranges from 300 to 850.

The higher it is, the more financially stable you are considered to be. It means that you are good for a loan, a credit card or a mortgage. If your score is low, it means that your application for borrowing has a high chance of being rejected.

If your credit score is over 700, you are considered to be in excellent credit health. If credit score is below 600, then you need to improve your credit health by paying your debts off.

So, why exactly is it important to be have a good credit score?

- Once you have a good credit score, it means easier access to more finances. This could be a store card, bank loan or a car. Today, it’s almost impossible to get a mortgage with a bad credit score.

- If your credit score is above average, you’re considered to be a reliable person who pays back what you borrow. This encourages lenders to give you better deals. You may find yourself getting longer repayment periods or healthy discounts.

- When applying for a job, employers may run a credit check on you. Applicants with high credit scores are looked on favorably, as they are considered to more honest and reliable.

- An important benefit of a credit report is that it’s an identity theft tracker. If anyone steals your identity, and is using up your finances, it will appear on your credit report. A thorough credit report will even flag unusual items for your attention.

Debt which is sent to collections will adversely affect your credit score. However, if your creditor seeks and is awarded a judgment, your credit score will be affected even more drastically.

Debt which is sent to collections will adversely affect your credit score. However, if your creditor seeks and is awarded a judgment, your credit score will be affected even more drastically.

If you are served with a Notice to Appear in court with regard to an unpaid debt, your creditor is through trying to work with you to collect the debt. After receipt of the Notice, you will have 30 days to object to the filing. If you can prove that the debt is invalid, you can have the case dismissed.

Some creditors may threaten to file a law suit but are not serious. However, going to court will be the kiss of death for your credit score and, therefore, should be avoided at all costs.

A credit report which lists an “unpaid” judgment will continue to show that unpaid judgment for 10-12 years. A renewal of this listing may occur if, at the end of this period, the judgment remains unpaid. Your credit report will list a paid judgment for up to 7 years from the date paid.

Assuming you owe the debt, the debt is still within the statute of limitations (check your state’s statute of limitations laws), and you would prefer to negotiate the outcome instead of going to court, you should make an attempt to contact your creditor. Prior to doing this, you should check your state’s statute of limitations laws because, if the debt is beyond the law, making an offer to pay could begin the clock ticking again and eliminate any statute of limitations claim you may have had.

If you are ordered by the court to pay a debt and an official court order is issued, the impact on your credit score will be devastating. However, if you decide to contact your creditor and arrange for payment, you may be able to avoid this traumatic black mark.

Offering to negotiate a settlement is the best solution for all parties. Typically, creditors do not want to go to court and will accept a portion of the amount owed just to bring the matter to a close. If you do not have a lump sum to offer as payment, you can always attempt to negotiate a payment plan. If your creditor is not “in the mood” to consider any offers, you might think about calling the lawyer handling the case for your creditor.

If a judgment is dismissed, it will be reported on your credit report as “legally void.” This is considerably less harmful than a “paid” judgment. Paid judgments remain for seven years on your credit report from the time paid.

In addition to a settlement, you should attempt to negotiate a deletion of the negative information in its entirety from your credit report. If you are able to accomplish this, it is imperative that you obtain the agreement in writing and obtain both parties’ signatures. It is good to remember that negotiating opportunites all but vanish once the court becomes involved.

It would be smart to consider seeking out the advice of a seasoned consumer credit attorney. The typical consumer credit attorney has handled hundreds, if not thousands, of these types of cases and can benefit you with his experience and knowledge.

The popularity of “No Credit Check Credit Cards” is increasing in the United States. More and more people are defaulting on their credit cards and home and car loans because of the difficult economic times in which we find ourselves. Therefore, consumers are turning to these no credit check credit cards as lenders become more stringent with their approval requirements.

Average or even above-average credit scores don’t even guarantee you a credit card anymore – as many people are finding out. It follows then that people who have below-average credit scores will find it incredibly difficult to be approved for a credit card of almost any type.

As the name indicates, “no credit check credit cards” are approved without the benefit of reviewing a credit report prior to approving the application. This means that, in many cases, people with a poor credit history will be approved. However, there are still some requirements associated with these cards. The person applying must be at least 18 years old, a United States resident, be gainfully employed, have a social security number, and be able to provide proof of identity, current employment, and current address.

One huge advantage of these no credit check credit cards is that they normally are reported to the three major credit reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. This means that, if maintained properly, these cards can help those consumers who have below-average credit scores to rebuild their credit. By using these no credit check credit cards, the consumer should, in time, be able to qualify for better financial products.

Companies that issue no credit check credit cards include banks and other financial institutions; however, they are more commonly found online. You will need to complete the application online and will normally receive an approval or denial within moments. If approved, the cardholder will receive their no credit check credit card in the mail within a few days.

Shopping around for the best no credit check credit card is important. You should be looking for the card which provides the lowest annual percentage rate (APR) as well as the fewest, and lowest, additional fees and charges.

Once you have decided which no credit check credit card to apply for, you should do what you can to make sure the company is legitimate and that its web site is secure. Be sure to do this prior to providing your personal data online. Obtaining other people’s opinions of the company by doing a quick internet search is a good idea.

Properly maintaining your no credit check credit card will yield great benefits. By doing so, you will begin to repair your credit score. Additionally, you should make every attempt to remain diligent in paying your monthly bills on time and staying below your credit limit. This will pay off in the future and you will be rewarded by becoming eligible for more desirable credit products.
