The Freedom Gold card is a shopping card that gives its members more than just the opportunity to shop. It also gives the opportunity to save money on services and purchases that would normally be quite expensive. For instance, for a small monthly fee, cardholders receive the ability to monitor their credit report through My Privacy Protection, can receive prescription discounts through My Universal Rx, can receive roadside assistance through My Roadside Protection, obtain legal assistance through My Legal Assistance, and receive discounts on various services and items through Courtesy Programs like My Fuel Savings. In addition to the small monthly membership fee, members are charged processing and shipping and handling fees with purchases, but there is no APR. These very small fees are all that is charged, making it competitive against cards that do have APRs. The credit limit is generous and unsecured. You do have the option to ask for more money if you need it, but the minimum amount is instant to those who qualify. As long as the qualifications are met, then the applicant is instant approval.
